Frequently Asked QuestionsQ. Where is the Lure Resort?A. We are 3/4 of a mile outside of Downieville on Hwy 49. Click here for map and directions. Q. We have never been in the area before. What is there to do? A. The Lure Resort is specifically designed amenity free. No televisions (unless you bring your own) or phones in the cabins. No game room or pool. We are a gateway to the magnificent Tahoe National Forest and surrounding area. Click here for activities. Q. Is there cell phone coverage in Downieville and surrounding area? A. In our experience you will lose cell phone service about an hour before you reach the resort. If you need to leave a telephone number with someone to contact you in an emergency, you may give them the resorts telephone number. We answer the phone from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM. Q. We are renting a House Keeping Cottage. Can we have a fire at night outside? A. No. Due to the layout of the resort, we are unable to have an outside fire pit a safe distance from the cabins. Q. Is there a bar-b-que with our Cottage? A. Yes. Please remember to bring charcoal, matches and starting fluid.
No wood is permitted in Q. Can we leave our pet alone in the cabin while we are gone for the day? A. No. It is against resort policy to leave your pet alone in your cabin. Q. Is pet sitting available if we are unable to take our pet on an activity with us? A. No. Due to the small size of our full time staff we are unable to provide pet sitting services. Q. Is child care or baby sitting available while we are at the resort? A. No. Due to the small size of our full time staff we are unable to provide child care or baby sitting services. Q. Do you have space for tent camping? A. No. We only have Camping Cabins and do not permit tents to be set up in the camping area. If you are staying in one of our Camping cabins you may setup a screen tent for eating. For your safety all guest must sleep in the cabin. Q. Do you have spaces for RV's. A. No.
